Mark Hemstedt, Senior Trainer & Business Coach

Mark Hemstedt is responsible for TWP operations in Southeast Asia and developing markets. Mark is a lead trainer and consultant and has conducted programmes in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas for a number of multinational companies, charities and UN groups.

He has a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Accounting and Financial Analysis from Warwick University (UK) and is an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA).

Prior to joining TWP, he worked for over 12 years with the multinational Unilever, most recently as Commercial and Finance Director in Malaysia. Mark has held senior positions with companies in the UK, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and China.

Marcus Marsden, Senior Trainer & Business Coach

Marcus Marsden joined TWP in 2002 following a successful 12-year career with Unilever, where he honed his leadership and management skills in Brand Marketing, Innovation and Change Management.

Marcus is an NLP Master Practitioner and was trained in Creative Thinking and Facilitation Skills by What If, one of the foremost creative agencies in the UK.  Marcus specializes in Leadership Development, Coach development, Creative Thinking and Change Management. Marcus holds an Honours degree in Philosophy and Theology from Oxford University (UK).

Since joining TWP, Marcus has worked with Directors and Senior Managers from a variety of major international businesses throughout Asia and Europe, including ABG, CRISIL, Dell, Unilever, Yahoo, PETRONAS and Imperial Tobacco.

Michelle Beck, Senior Trainer & Executive Coach

Michelle Beck facilitates the Advanced Course and a variety of workshops. She brings a unique blend of management experience and Asian cultural knowledge. Michelle has lived and worked in Asia for over 18 years and is fluent in Mandarin.

Prior to her current work, Michelle was a member of the executive team at Global Sources, one of Asia’s first and most successful B2B internet businesses. She was part of the team that orchestrated the transition from print media to a NASDAQ listed E-Commerce company.As the Vice President of Community Development she led a team of 150 people in seven countries.

She received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Augustana College and her Master of Arts in Modern Chinese history from the University of Wisconsin.

Ken Ito, Senior Trainer

Ken Ito is an expert in designing and facilitating indoor and outdoor experiential training programmes.

Ken has 15 years experience working with companies in Asia, the US, and Europe, to increase efficiency, enhance communication, build teamwork, and dramatically improve bottom-line results. Clients include Shell, Phillips, Oracle, JP Morgan Chase, Grand Hyatt, Cathay Pacific and Nike.

Before TWP in 1997, Ken was Managing Director of KKI Associates, Asia, a consulting and training firm specializing in staff development, team building, leadership training and motivational speaking. He was certified to do the Samurai Game® created by Mr. George Leonard.

Ken earned his undergraduate degree in psychology at University of Illinois and his Masters of Education at University of Hawaii.

Gordon Sutton, Senior Trainer & Executive Coach

Gordon Sutton joined the training and coaching profession in 1999, after 15 years in Sales, Marketing and Management in the construction sector including major contracts in the UK, Australia, UAE and Malaysia.

Gordon served for seven years in the British Army Corps of Royal Engineers, where he studied Civil Engineering at the Royal School of Military Engineering in Kent, England and graduated as a Survey Engineer in 1982.

At TWP, Gordon specializes in team building and leadership coaching, and is a certified ropes course outdoor education facilitator.

Tunku Nina Mansur, Executive Coach

For the previous six years Nina has served as Country Manager for Asiaworks Training overseeing a leadership development program with over five thousand graduates.  She managed a 10-strong team and recruited over 150 volunteers per year to facilitate public trainings of over 1000 people annually.  She has directly coached over 400 participants in their personal and professional goals, including coaching a UNDP program initiative to combat HIV/AIDS in Malaysia.

Prior to joining AsiaWorks, Nina worked for 10 years with her family business in manufacturing and property development.  She has also held the position of company administrator for a rubber glove manufacturing company preparing for ISO certification. Nina also set up and successfully ran an art gallery for 7 years, working with major corporate collectors and institutions.

Nina holds a degree in International Relations with Development Studies from Sussex University, UK.  She also has a diploma in early childhood education from St Nicholas’ Training Centre For The Montessori Method of Education, London. Nina has recently graduated an ICF Coach Certification Program with Newfield Network Coach Training Institute

Matthias Hoffman, Executive Coach

Matthias is currently working as a research fellow for the Tropical Marine Science Institute of the National University of Singapore. He is specializing in dolphin echolocation and cognition and general marine mammal sensory systems and behaviour. Matthias is also currently leading a team of researchers in training two bottlenose dolphins at Ocean Park Hong Kong in sensory and cognitive experiments and he spends about half of his time in Hong Kong. In addition to his research on cognition and behaviour Matthias works as a Coach on a range of leadership programs in the corporate and public sector in the South East Asian region.

Matthias was born in Regensburg Germany, got his masters in Zoology form the University of Regensburg and his PhD in behavioural Biology from the Free University of Berlin. He has recently completed his diploma in Ontological coaching from Newfieldasia one of the world’s premier coach certification programs.

Before Matthias became a coach he was working as researcher/dolphin trainer for the University of Hawaii’s Marine Mammal Laboratory conducting research on bottlenosed dolphin cognition and working seasonally with Humpback whales in Hawaiian waters.

Cheong Meoh Ching, Executive Coach

Ching’s current areas of expertise include: Leadership development, Coaching, Project management, Product marketing and Communication effectiveness. Ching has extensive corporate experience working in areas of channel (reseller) business, distribution, and training & certification.

In the last 6 years, she has worked with leaders from a variety of industries, from entrepreneurs to senior executives in multinational companies on career and personal development for peak performance. Some of the client companies that Ching has worked extensively with are Petronas, Sony Ericsson, and Aditya Birla Group. With all of these organisations, Ching has coached directly both senior and high potential executives. With Petronas and Sony Ericsson, Ching has also worked in a Head Coaching role, through she has supported the continued development of both internal coaches and other professional coaches.

Ching was born in Malaysia and obtained her Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (R.M.I.T.), Australia. She is also a certified NLP Practitioner.

Christine Chan, Executive Coach

In the last 2 years, Christine has facilitated nearly 20 leadership development training programmes and in this process, coached and mentored the coaches of some 280 professionals in government and private sectors, teachers, students and parents.  She has applied her results-oriented coaching method to work with people from Singapore, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Holland, France, etc.

Before entering the training profession Christine was a commercial litigator for 12 years, having worked in Chambers in London for nearly 2 years and then with Allen & Gledhill and KhattarWong, training with 2 of the top 5 advocates in Singapore.  Between 1995-2001, she was engaged in all aspects of commercial litigation, international arbitration, corporate advisory (for parties in China, Indonesia, Thailand, Burma, Korea, Japan and Singapore) and commercial leasing/centre management.

After a 3-year sabbatical to write, teach and train, she returned to legal practice with a focus on corporate finance. Christine obtained her LL.B (Honours) from the University of London and was called to the Bar of England & Wales by Middle Temple in 1994.  She was called to the Bar in Singapore as an Advocate & Solicitor in 1998.  She speaks and writes in English and Mandarin, and can converse at an elementary level in Ameslan, Thai and Japanese.

Jeannie Lo, Executive Coach

Jeannie Lo delivers talent development consulting projects throughout Greater China and the Asia Pacific region. She is a Newfield trained coach, certified Lominger tool suites master trainer, a licensed 7 Habits facilitator and a certified advanced practitioner of NLP.

She was a Principal Consultant in Korn/ Ferry International’s Leadership & Talent Consulting Business, responsible for leadership development projects and talent assessments. Some of the most recent clients Jeannie has coached or facilitated workshops for include Associated British Food, Kraft, Bayer Group, SGL Group, DOW Chemical, Goodyear, Bacardi, TSMC, J&J Consumer and Medical, Joy Global, Novo Nordisk, Prudential, Philips, Bulgari, Dior, OAK Pacific Interactive, etc. Jeannie has fifteen years of experience as an HR practitioner in multinational companies such as British American Tobacco and the Grand Hyatt Hotel Corporation, overseeing leadership development efforts and establishing in-house training academies.

Taiwanese by birth, Jeannie graduated from Tamkang University in Taipei, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. She conducts her work fluently in both Mandarin and English. Jeannie lives in Shanghai.
